Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff and Red Bull’s Boss Christian Horner have a long-standing fight between them. They often engage in heat off the track and during press conferences. The feud between Toto Wolff and Christian Horner was enjoyed very well by fans and Formula 1 critics during the 2021 Formula 1 season.

But to everyone's surprise, Toto Wolff has now sided with Red Bull’s Christian Horner after the debate about Red Bull’s junior team securing the fastest lap award from McLaren. McLaren Boss Zak Brown argued that Formula One is an individual sport, not a coalition sport where two teams can work together. The issue was raised after Daniel Ricciardo stooped at the pit for a tyre change during later stages and went fastest and claimed the fastest lap point from Lando Norris.

Because of Ricciardo claiming that single point away from Lando Norris the title lead of Max Verstappen will be 52 points and not 51 points. Many critics pointed their fingers at Red Bull Boss Christian Horner for issuing orders to his junior team to have the fastest lap.

Toto gave Horner a rare support

Horner’s long-standing rival Toto Wolff came in support of the Red Bull boss which was shocking for many.  The Mercedes Boss spoke about the issue and he said “I think you’ve got to probably play all the strategies that you have. I don't think that was a dirty play. Not at all, it could come down to a point, where it was within the regulations. The drivers weren’t unfair to each other. It's no big deal.”

Christian Horner was very critical of Toto Wolff many times but this time his rival came in support which is a surprise for Horner himself. The title fight will head to the United States where Red Bull and Mclaren will race for the lead at the Austin GP.
