Over the past few decades, many brothers competed in Formula 1 like Michael Schumacher and Ralf Schumacher, Gilles and Jacques Villeneuve, Emerson and Wilson Fittipaldi, Mario and Aldo Andretti .etc. The biggest thing here is none of them were teammates and each raced for different teams. Formula 1 is yet to see two brothers competing together for the same team. But history will be made this weekend when Arthur Leclerc, the younger sibling of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc will debut during the first free practice session for Ferrari.

Historic moment in F1

This will mark a historic moment in F1 and it will be the first time two siblings race together for the same team. In MotoGP, we saw Marc Marquez and his younger brother Alex Marquez racing for the Honda and Gresini Racing teams.

It is very new to Formula 1, and the two brothers will be very proud to make history. Arthur Leclerc has every talent and skill to become a teammate of Charles at Ferrari. But he will have to wait for a few more years as Lewis Hamilton will join his brother as a teammate next year.

The 24-year-old Arthur will be the Italian team's second and final mandated Rookie test driver for 2024 next to Olliver Bearman. He raced in Formula 2 last year and finished 15th in the drivers standings. He spent the entire 2024 season as a development driver for Ferrari.

He is also racing a Ferrari 296 GT3 in the Italian GT Championship. Arthur Leclerc also has some experience driving in the European Le Mans Series with the Panis Racing team. His brother Charles Leclerc is also an 8-time Formula 1 race winner and he will play a prime role for Ferrari alongside Carlos Sainz to clinch the Constructors championship this year by going against the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Ferrari will make history if they win the 2024 constructors championship, while the last one came back in the 2008 season. McLaren will also make history as it will be their first ever title in more than two decades since winning the title back in the 1998 F1 season. Overall, the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP will be historic for many teams and drivers.
