Will Wade Barrett return to action and take on his former Nexus teammate CM Punk at Money in the Bank? (Source: X)
Wade Barrett was salty against CM Punk who interfered in the match between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest. In the main event of the Clash at the Castle, the referee was down following an unintentional blow from Damian. As the fans asked for a referee, Punk came with the T-shirt of a referee on the top half of his body. Drew was frustrated to the core.
The former world champion refused to count the third and became responsible for an angry face of McIntyre. He later delivered a low blow to the Scottish Warrior and watched Damian Priest pin him after delivering a South of Heaven Chokeslam. Wade, who was present in the commentary box, was not pleased with it. He addressed the issue later in the post-match show.
The former Nexus member claimed it to be the biggest screw job of all time, overcoming even Bret Hart's screw job in 1997. Barrett asked the WWE management to impose a ban on the voice of the voiceless for his act of costing Drew the world title two times in the last 10 weeks. Barrett criticized Triple H for praising Punk as someone who changed the work culture in WWE.
Wade Barrett vs CM Punk on Friday Night Smackdown?
The fans blasted the former Nexus member for his opinions on social media. However, it might not have come naturally without stuff going on backstage. There might be a genuine case as to why Wade let out his opinions that way. It might be a good chance for Wade to make his in-ring comeback in a long time. The question is, will he be back in action?
The Money in the Bank is set to happen on the 6th of July. There is a good chance of Wade facing Punk in the PLE, which could potentially lead to Drew vs Punk. Before leaving the arena, Drew was stopped by Barrett who seemed to cool him down. On Smackdown, there might be a face-off between Punk and Barrett, which could lead to their feud.
