On Friday Night SmackDown, WWE teased a potential double turn at SummerSlam from Cody Rhodes and John Cena. As Cena refused to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam owing to fatigue due to his movie shoots, Rhodes took it upon himself and forced the Leader of the Cenation Army to sign the contract.
At WrestleMania XL, Cody failed to seize the opportunity to defend his title by taking a cheap shot at Cena. However, John made the best use of it and became a record 17-time world champion. However, Cody decided to change and pulled the trigger at the Night of Champions and wasted no opportunity to take wrong routes to beat Randy Orton to become the King of the Ring.

Will The Rock join forces with Cody Rhodes against John Cena at SummerSlam?
In his entire promo on WWE SmackDown, Cena seemed to be on the defensive side, something that can be attributed to a baby face. It's a quality that The Final Boss might not like. If Cena decides to embrace his good side, The People's Champ might do what he did with Cody at the Elimination Chamber.

That could be a shocker for some, but in reality, a masterstroke from The Rock, who would be aware of the fact that Cena has just under 15 dates remaining in his entire farewell run and would not be useful after that. Cody turning heel will open up many stories to be told.
