John Cena's upcoming WWE appearances and reason behind his absence since Night of Champions

John Cena has been absent from WWE since his match against CM Punk at the WWE Night of Champions at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, on July 28. The 17-time world champion has been busy promoting his movie 'Heads of State' and is set to shoot for the Netflix movie 'Little Brother' in New Jersey.

Cena, along with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Idris Elba, have been touring different parts of the world and are promoting their movie by appearing in different podcasts, interviews, and other sources to spread the word of mouth. Cena and Priyanka also showed up at Wimbledon 2025 with their partners.

Cena will have no free time after his promotion, as he will be a part of shoots for his upcoming movie, Little Brother, which is produced by Netflix. He is likely to be involved in it for the next week till he appears on the July 18 episode of SmackDown. He will additionally shoot for his film for 2 weeks after that before returning on August 1.

John Cena's upcoming WWE appearances

So far, the Leader of the Cenation Army is scheduled to appear on July 18 and August 1 before his match against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam on August 3. He is also scheduled to appear on August 8 for SmackDown after the major PLE.
