Who could be Roman Reigns' opponent at SummerSlam 2025?

Roman Reignsreturned toWWE on the 14th of July 2025 on Monday Night Raw, nearly a couple of months after he was taken out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker on Raw after Mania. The Tribal Chief returned as 'OTC1' and helped Jey Uso against Bronson Reed and Breakker to end the night on a positive note.

Roman and CM Punk were taken out by the alliance of Seth and Breakker on Raw after Mania. At WrestleMania 41, Rollins joined forces with Paul Heyman and betrayed Punk and Roman. To address the issue, the best way was to build the match between Rollins and Roman at SummerSlam, which was also reportedly the plan for the PLE.

However, the Visionary injuring his right knee meant Roman might have to wait for his time to face Mr.Money in the Bank. However, the buildup to their big match could be longer, as in Seth's absence, Roman might fight Bronson and Breakker. There could be a tag team match between Jey and Roman against Bron and Reed.

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso are unlikely to Main Event at SummerSlam

Currently, all other major stars seem to be occupied in other stories. Hence, it makes sense for WWE to book the tag team match, as SummerSlam will be a 2-night affair for the first time. With many stars potentially getting featured in matches, Roman might not Main Event at SummerSlam.

Night 1 of the event could witness the World Heavyweight Championship match between CM Punk and Gunther. On Night 2, Cody Rhodes could challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the Main Event. Hence, Roman and Jey might start one of the nights, due to a lack of stake in their match.
