At the Survivor Series 2025, after the Men's War Games, Cody Rhodes did not shake hands with Roman Reigns, as CM Punk did. In the process, the duo hinted at their future match potentially for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42. As both Cody and Roman are Babyfaces, there is a good chance of the former turning heel.
Roman and Cody headlined two WrestleMania Main Events in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Both of them were for the world title. The American Nightmare lost it in the first instance but claimed it in his second attempt, in what was one of the biggest wins in the history of WWE.

As things are shaking up for WrestleMania 42, the Survivor Series already provided a hint for the fans to expect from the show of all shows. One of the Main Events of the two-nighter show could be between Cody and Roman for the world title. Some of the reports have hinted at the same.

However, WWE is a business where things can be pivoted soon based on the reception from the fans. After Roman and Cody fought against each other for multiple months, if the fans might feel tired of their rivalry, there is a good chance of them disapproving of the feud.

The best way to spice things up between the two could be to ensure Cody turns heel. For a long time, he has been showing heel tendencies, which could be made a reality. Given both Cody and Roman are currently faces and WWE would loved to have one of them as a heel, Cody seems to be the best bet.
