Will 2025 be farewell tour for CSK's MS Dhoni, similar to WWE's John Cena?

John Cena announced that 2025 would be his last year as an active wrestler. The star wrestler would be on a farewell tour when Netflix streams WWE online. Likewise, it is worth wondering if MS Dhoni would be playing his last season for CSK in the IPL before deciding to hand his boots from all forms of Cricket.

Cena and Dhoni have had a similar career graph in their respective fields. Cena made his WWE debut in 2002 while Dhoni made his India debut in 2004. Both of them were at their prime in the period 2005-2016. They achieved everything in their field in the period. They were the biggest stars of their respective field for a long time.

John Cena won the world title a record 16 times, the joint most for a WWE Superstar. He was also arguably the greatest United States Champion of all-time. Cena made a name for himself as arguably the greatest babyface if all-time. He popularized WWE in many parts of the globe.

Highs and lows of MS Dhoni and John Cena's careers

On the other hand, MS Dhoni became the only captain to win the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, and the Champions Trophy. He won 5 IPL titles as a skipper. As a batter, he was exceptional in ODIs and good in Tests and T20Is. In the IPL, he operated on a different level.

Having been the pillars of their sports, Cena and Dhoni had a rough phase in the period 2020-22. While Cena did not win any major match and has not won a televised match since 2018, Dhoni could not bat well in the period 2020-22 despite helping his side to win their fourth IPL title in 2021.

Both are towards the fag ened of their careers. Cena already confirmed 2025 to be his last season as an active wrestler. Dhoni has been reported to retire from the IPL every season since 2020. It is to be seen if 2025 would turn out to be his last season with CSK in the IPL.
