Matthew McConaughey booed Kevin Owens who unnecessarily confronted him on WWE Smackdown. As Jimmy Uso took KO on, McConaughey gestured him 'hook-em'. The Oscar-winning actor was not pleased with KO's verbal attack on the commentator Joe Tessitore and expressed his disapproval. Jimmy came to the arena and ensured a match against Kevin in the main event of the night.
Matthew McConaughey and his family members showed up at WWE Smackdown. Before the camera focused on him, Tessiotore interviewed Cody Rhodes ahead of the contract signing on Saturday Night's Main Event. KO was not happy with him not being interviewed. He showed up out of nowhere and confronted Tessitore for ignoring him.

Kevin Owens went off and claimed he deserved to be interviewed over Cody. The star wrestler claimed Michael Cole to be better than him. However, he said even Cole was busy kissing Pat McAfee's a*s on WWE Raw. KO claimed everyone in the company was kissing Cody's a*s due to his influence over everyone.

KO claimed Cody became a friend of everyone and betrayed them eventually. Kevin said he would prove to be the true champion at Royal Rumble by beating Rhodes. He then shifted his focus on McConaughey who was in the arena. As KO asked McConaughey his opinion on the match, the star actor started to boo him.
Kevin took a personal dig at McConaughey and said he would beat Cody just like how his son-in-law was beaten. Fans joined McConaughey and booed KO for taking a personal dig at the actor. That was when the music of Jimmy hit. The Bloodline star wasted no time and entered the ring.
As Owens asked Jimmy why he was in the arena, the elder Uso claimed he just could not stand him talking too much. Jimmy started to attack Kevin and the fans cheered him. As Jimmy went for a Uso splash, Kevin ran away. Jimmy asked Kevin for a match later in the night and McConaughey gave his approval with a 'Hook-em' gesture.
