Cody Rhodes was denied an opportunity to face Kevin Owens after what happened with Randy Orton on WWE Smackdown. The American Nightmare was given a message from Nick Aldis that he would not have an opportunity to face KO. As Aldis said an internal discussion was set to take place to discuss the issue, Cody was not ready for it and said he would beat KO in his house.
Last week on Smackdown, KO delivered a banned move, piledriver, to take out Randy. It forced the Viper to be taken out of the arena in an ambulance. Rhodes was highly disappointed to see his idol being treated the way he was. He entered the arena high on intensity to take on KO.

Cody Rhodes believed Kevin was right there in the arena and wanted him to enter the ring so that he could face him. Instead of Owens, Aldis came out and let Cody know that the former was not allowed to be on the blue brand for what he did last week.
Cody Rhodes claims to be ready to take on Kevin Owens in his home
Aldis addressed the usage of the banned move from KO and confirmed it to be the reason behind him not being allowed on the show. Cody was not the one who wanted to wait. He asked Aldis to think on his behalf. He let Nick know how important Randy was for him.
Rhodes said what Randy told him after beating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. He said Orton was proud to see him win the world title. Cody said Orton meant the world to him and was not ready to let go of someone who took him out with a banned move.
He asked Nick what the alternate way of taking KO was. He asked Nick if he wanted his world champion to enter Owens's home to destroy it. Though Rhodes said he did not want to do something like it, he claimed to be ready to attack KO in his home.
