Jey Uso's win against Bron Breakker to claim the Inter-continental Championship has been loved by nuumerous fans. It seemed a long time coming after all Jey has been losing chances of winning the title for the sixth time. It was fitting for him to beat Bron to win his singles title. Triple H and the rest of the creative team has been praised for the booking.

In 2023, Jey Uso grew like big a star to be contained by the Bloodline. Hence, he was taken out of the faction and given a new home in Raw. Cody Rhodes helped him gain some friends in the new roster. It took several months for him to establish himself as a top singles contender.

Till the beginning of 2024, the likes of Drew McIntyre, Judgement Day, Seth Rollins, and many others were after him. Bloodline had cost them in one or the other way in the past. By 2024, Jey focused became a solo champion. His exercise began with going after the IC title.

Jey Uso's journey as a solo wrestler

Jey went after Gunther, the former IC champion. The attempt went in vain. After WrestleMania XL, Jey went after the World Heavyweight Championship. He lost the title at Backlash 2024 to Damian Priest. Jey lost the King of the Ring tournament and the Money in the Bank matches as well.

After a lot of failed attempts at the world title, Jey further started to focus on the IC title. After a lot of instances of Jey losing his matches, the fans were angry with the booking of the creative team. It seemed like Jey possessed everything but was not handed a title.

For over a year, Jey did the hard yards. His promo against Bron last week on Raw was probably like a final nail in the coffin as he proved himself as someone who could cut good promos. The creative team finally realized that Jey was running out of time and was someone who deserved a belt. And hence, Jey emerged as a deserving winner.
