Triple H raised the stakes of the King and Queen of the Ring tournament winners. The CCO of WWE posted a video on social media handles which was from a live show that took place recently. Ahead of 'King and Queen of the Ring', the Friday Night Smackdown is set to take place. The PLE is set to happen in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah. Triple H made a big statement ahead of the show.

The 14-time world champion claimed that he did not announce it anywhere and claimed that the winners of the King and Queen of the Ring Tournament Finals gets a title shot at the world championship in their respective brands. The announcement of Paul Levesque got a good response from the people who were present in the arena.

"The stakes just got even higher. The winners of this Saturday’s King and Queen of the Ring Tournament Finals will each secure a championship opportunity at Summerslam," wrote Triple H on his social media handle as he shared the video of his announcement. This might be a good move to make the tournament relevant, as it has lost its credibility in the last few years.

Triple H's King of the Ring win

Winning the King and Queen of the tournament did not mean much for the wrestlers in the last few years. However, back in time, the winner of the tournament went on to have a title shot at the world champion. In fact, Triple H himself got it in 1997 when he beat Hulk Hogan in the final to become the King of the Ring. He later became the world champion in the process.

In 2024, some of the best wrestlers on the current roster are set to be a part of the event. From Raw, Gunther and Lyra Valkyria have qualified for the final of the tournament in the men's and women's divisions respectively. From Smackdown, there are 4 candidates who can qualify. In the men's division, Randy Orton or Tama Tonga can qualify. In the women's division, Bianca Belair or Nia Jax can qualify.
