The Rock has discussed his reasoning for skipping WWE WrestleMania XL's main event against Roman Reigns. Although it appeared that the ideal match might occur this year, it was not to be.

Speaking on WWE's WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain documentary, which was made available on YouTube today, The Final Boss acknowledged that he got in touch with Triple H, Ari Emanuel, and Nick Khan in response to the fans' outcry over Cody Rhodes' apparent forced exit from his rematch against The Tribal Chief at WWE WrestleMania XL.

Although The Brahma Bull acknowledged that a lot of fans would have loved the bout, he didn't want to let down those who were emotionally committed in the plot of The American Nightmare. The Rock stated that even while the main event starring him and Roman Reigns may go on and draw a large crowd, including many people who don't usually watch WWE, he was concerned about certain fans being unhappy. This unease contradicted the way he had conducted himself during his career.

In the WWE Smackdown programme from February 2, 2024, Cody Rhodes seems to step aside to allow Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. But in the end, Cody decided to face Reigns at WrestleMania at the Kickoff event.

As per Sportskeeda, "They are going to love this idea of Rock and Roman and we are going to tell an amazing story. Hopefully, this will be the first chapter of a few. We could do that. However, I said that my gut says, I said Ari, Nick, and Triple H, my gut says that I don't like, even if it is a segment of fans, I don't like that they are upset," he said.

The Rock make to comeback to WWE

The Great One continued, saying that the angry fans genuinely affected him and that he intended to ensure that they got what they were hoping for at WWE WrestleMania XL. The Rock was recently commended by Vince Russo, who pointed out that at the height of his WWE career, he separated from the others.

Since threatening to go after Cody Rhodes on WWE RAW following WrestleMania XL, The Rock has not made an appearance. When the 52-year-old makes a comeback to WWE television, only time will tell.
