Sika Anoa'i, the famed professional wrestler and father of WWE Superstar Roman Reigns, died at the age of 79. Sika's nephew, Jahrus Anoa'i, rushed to Instagram to tell the world of his death.
Sika rose to prominence in professional wrestling as one-half of The Wild Samoans, one of the most iconic tag teams of all time, partnering with Afa Anoa'i. The duo's intimidating appearance and out-of-control manner propelled them to superstardom in the 1970s and 1980s.
The Wild Samoans even had multiple appearances in the WWF, where they were three-time Tag Team Champions. Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 were Sika and Afa.
During the 2020 Hell in a Cell premium live event, Sika Anoa'i made his most recent appearance on WWE television. Sika and Afa Anoa'i came out to congratulate Roman Reigns on stage after he defeated Jey Uso to defend his Universal Championship. They wrapped a lei around his neck and hugged him as the leader of the family. Reigns was officially promoted to The Head of the Table at this point.
Roman Reigns discussed his father's wisdom with him.
Roman Reigns was born into the famed Anoa'i family, therefore professional wrestling runs in his veins. He has become one of WWE's most recognizable performers, ensuring that the Anoa'i family's rich legacy lives on.
In the recently published A&E Biography of Roman Reigns, The Tribal Chief discussed the guidance his father Sika offered him from the start. Sika emphasized that pulling money was the most crucial component of the professional wrestling business, which Reigns had done well in recent years.
As per Sportskeeda, "From the very beginning my dad always taught me that when you come around this ring, it's only about money. It's only about drawing money," Reigns said.
