Roman Reigns expresses gratitude to everyone for their support following the death of his father

Roman Reigns breaks his silence during his WWE hiatus to pay honor to his father. Jahrus, Sika's nephew, revealed on Tuesday that the WWE Hall of Famer has died. Sika was 79 years old. He and his brother, Afa, formed a legendary tag team known as "The Wild Samoans." Afa and Sika paved the path for many of today's elite-level Samoan wrestlers. 

Sika Anoa'i, a WWE Hall of Famer, died, bringing sadness to the wrestling business. Sika was a member of the famed tag team The Wild Samoans and the father of Roman Reigns. However, Reigns turned to social media this evening to pay honor to his father, tweeting.

"My family and I thank everyone for the outpouring of support in the name of my father, Pola'ivao Leati Sika Anoa’i, who will forever be remembered as one half of The Wild Samoans tag team.  My father had a profound impact on my entire family and we are forever grateful for the foundation he built for us. There’s no way to fill the void left by his passing but my sisters and I will do our best to represent him and his legacy. Rest in Power, Dad. We love you."

No sign of Roman Reigns returning to WWE 

Reigns' position as the "Tribal Chief" in The Bloodline helped him become one of the top stars in the industry, making his forefathers proud. That honor was given to Roman by Sika himself in 2020.

The WWF Championship match between Sika and Hulk Hogan was featured on one of Saturday Night's Main Event's most memorable shows. On October 3, 1987, SNME, the show that also introduced the Mega Powers, two competed for the championship. After Roman Reigns defeated Jey Uso at WWE Hell in a Cell 2020, they both made an appearance and gave Reigns the Ula Fala Lei.

After losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 in April, Reigns has taken a leave of absence from the company. At present, there is no schedule indicating when Roman Reigns will return to WWE shows.
