Randy Orton says he wants to have one last match with John Cena

WWE: Randy Orton, for example, has stated a wish for this to happen. In a WWE interview with Cody Rhodes, the former world champion feels a bout with Cena is virtually inevitable.

John Cena's in-ring retirement tour was announced, and immediately after, rumors began to circulate about who his last opponents would be. Celebrities from all across the business, such as TNA's Joe Hendry and WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker, have been pushing for a one-on-one match with Big Match John, but there has always been one name that unites fan talk: Randy Orton. 

John Cena and Randy Orton have engaged in 123 singles matches against one another, with their first match being in 2001. When they fought for the WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2007, that's when their feud started. The two would go on to compete in twelve pay-per-view bouts against each other; their most recent on-screen match took place on an episode of WWE SmackDown in February 2017.

Randy Orton disclosed on What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes that he met John Cena at WWE Money in the Bank in July of last year, right before Cena made his retirement tour announcement.

"I spotted John before he walked inside and delivered his retiring address. I hadn't seen him for a time. I had no idea he was going to be there. We caught up in about five minutes. "For all I knew, he was going to be around, like me, for as long as his body allowed him to," Orton said, " as per Comic Book.

For the last year, Cena is expected to make at least 36 broadcast appearances and battle multiple unknown opponents. Randy Orton, for example, has stated a wish for this to happen. In a WWE interview with Cody Rhodes, the former world champion feels a bout with Cena is virtually inevitable.

Orton continued by asking Cena whether he would be interested in a matchup between the two in a championship contest, but Cena made it clear that he left all creative decisions up to the WWE creative staff. At later this month's WWE Bash in Berlin, Orton is now slated to face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship in Germany.
