5 Things John Cena Never Accomplished In WWE

In WWE John Cena is one of the biggest wrestlers companies has ever seen. In the era of Triple H, The Rock, Stone Cold, Steve Austin and many more big wrestling names John Cena became the biggest star that the WWE company has ever produced. 

Since 2005 John Cena has risen as a main star, breaking serval records and has set a big legacy which is not easy to break. He won many titles in WWE. He also won Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, a few times in his prime. During the 2024 Money in the Bank John Cena made a special appearance and spoke out his retirement plan. During this, he states that the next season will be his last season in WWE and will take retirement from WWE. Even though he has almost achieved everything in WWE there are some boxes he hasn’t ticked during his time in WWE.

5. Not able to break Ric Flair

World titles won by John Cena demonstrate his enormous standing in the WWE. Having won the WWE Championship thirteen times, more than any other WWE Superstar, and the three times global Heavyweight Championship, The Leader of Cenation holds a record of sixteen global championships. At 47 years old, Cena hasn't yet surpassed the record held by the great Ric Flair, though. Flair has the record of becoming the sixteenth world champion recognized by WWE, which Cena presently shares. Cena did not win a world title until 2017. Additionally, before Cena retired, Ric Flair indicated that he wouldn't mind seeing Cena shatter his record.

4. Not winning the Universal Championship

During his stint with WWE John Cena has won three types of world titles. He won 16 times world titles including WWE World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship. Meanwhile, he has never won the WWE Universal Championship. However, in 2016 WWE Universal Championship was later introduced as a replacement for the World Heavyweight Championship. By this time John Cena was a full-time mega star in WWE. 

3. Not winning any title by cashing Money in the Bank

During his time John Cena won the Money in the Bank briefcase only one time. In 2012 John Cena won the Money in the Bank ladder match against Big Show. Winning Money in the Bank gives a chance to wrestler to cash in any WWE champion for their title, so, did John Cena against WWE champion CM Punk during that time. However, he cashed in and won the match but the win did not count by disqualification which led to CM Punk retaining the title.

2. Unable to win against Roman Reigns

In WWE John Cena's matches are regarded as big matches as his success has set the legacy. However, the megastar hasn’t won any single match against Roman Reigns. He faced Roman Reigns twice in single matches but Roman Reigns defeated him. Their first match took place in 2017 in which Roman Reigns defeated him. In 2021, SummerSlam both stars faced others which resulted in a similar outcome. 

1. Failed to win WWE Intercontinental Championship

John Cena has set a big status in WWE which is not easily achieved by many wrestlers. He had won the US Championship, Tag Team Championship etc, but the only title which is missing from his cabinet is the WWE Intercontinental Championship. As he is nearing his career end in WWE winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship remains his aim next year.
