All Elite Wrestling's new World Champion has found himself in a tough situation. Swerve Strickland had a great crew behind him for quite some time and was keeping an eye on him while he rose to prominence. He gained control of the Embassy and transformed the entire organisation into the Mogul Embassy, placing Prince Nana and three of Ring of Honor's most powerful players at his disposal. Unfortunately for Strickland, certain allegiances are only so strong, and the Mogul Embassy turned against their commander on the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite.

Strickland is due to defend his Championship against Christian Cage at Double or Nothing later this month, and the two fighters faced off on Dynamite this week. Of course, Christian had brought along members of the Patriarchy, so Swerve summoned some reinforcements. While Nana was not there, Brian Cage, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun joined Swerve in the ring. They remained behind him until Christian made a move that prompted the members of the Mogul Embassy to turn on Swerve.

Swerve was ripped apart by the former ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, who thrashed him across the ring and eventually threw him over the announce table. They made it obvious that they no longer consider Swerve in the same way as they did before. The only main question was of Prince Nana, who has supported Swerve throughout his ascent to prominence.

Christian Cage played a big role in convincing Mogul Embassy

Christian Cage had a significant role in convincing the Mogul Embassy to set up Swerve, although he was not necessarily the mastermind behind the entire operation. EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson approached Christian backstage and complimented him on his successful shift. He replied to them by stating it was a fantastic idea on their behalf.

On Sunday, May 26th, Double or Nothing will make a comeback to Las Vegas. In the main event, Swerve and Christian will square off for the AEW World Championship.
