Kenny Omega has opened up on the 'Brawl Out' which took place between CM Punk and the young bucks back in 2022. The former EVP of AEW reacted to the footage of a brawl between CM Punk, the Elite, and Jack Perry which was aired on 'AEW Dynamite' last week. As Punk came with a statement regarding the incident, AEW decided to air it to the world.
While nothing conclusive was found from the footage, it grabbed the eyeballs of the viewers for presentation. Omega, who was the EVP of AEW in 2022, had the responsibility of stopping the brawl back in 2022. Omega talked about his responsibilities as the EVP of AEW back then and claimed that he had to de-escalate the heat between multiple parties at that point.
In the statement he gave recently, the former EVP of AEW claimed that he had nothing in his power to control the situation. The former AEW EVP claimed that he thought himself to be a liability as he could not exercise his power. "I thought my duty as EVP during 'Brawl Out' would be to enter the situation while there was chaos, de-escalate it, and create a peaceful environment for everyone," said Omega about the incident.
'Things were too chaotic' - Kenny Omega
"Unfortunately, try as I may, things were too chaotic for me to be able to do anything by my own power," added Omega in his statement. Omega flaunted his skills as a pro wrestler and claimed that he knows several contact sports arts like Boxing, Jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts. But he accepted that stopping the brawl in All In was not his cup of tea.
Omega felt that things got out of hand as both ends had gone overboard after the press event. Omega claimed himself to be a believer in fighting and agreed upon the fact that he is not suitable for the role of EVP as of 2024. He maintained that CM Punk and himself have a good relationship with each other despite their history in the company.
