Christian Cage has been one of AEW's top heels for several months, and he had a long-running rivalry with Adam Copeland that ended early this year. Cage has now stated if he will ever partner up with Copeland.
Adam Copeland was immediately drawn into an angle with Christian Cage after making his AEW debut last year, and the two had a handful of fights together, the most recent being their ridiculous 'I Quit' match on Dynamite. Copeland would defeat Cage and become the new TNT Champion.
Christian Cage has solidified his position as one of AEW's top heels throughout the last year. Adam Copeland, his former tag-team teammate, joined the company in October 2023. They feuded for months before Copeland defeated Cage to capture the TNT Championship on the March 20 edition of AEW Dynamite.
At Steel City Con (via Fandom Spotlite), Christian Cage was asked if he would ever rejoin with Copeland. According to Ringside News Christian Cage states,” Why would I team up with that a******? I just beat the s*** out of him for six months and now I’m gonna team up with him? No. I’m done carrying him, he’s a loser.”

“Is that a serious question. Why would I team up with that asshole. I just beat the shit out of him for 6 months straight. I’m done carrying him. He’s a loser” pic.twitter.com/BuWod1nu2b
Cage made it obvious that he would never collaborate with the Rated R Superstar, no matter what. Christian Cage is now feuding with Swerve Strickland, and they will square off for the AEW World Championship at AEW Double or Nothing, so we'll see how the feud plays out.
There’s nothing cool about what he’s doing - Adam Copeland
Throughout their conflict, Adam Copeland talked favorably of Christian Cage. During an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Copeland praised Cage's character work.
As per Yahoo Entertainment Copeland said, “He does this so well because he wants to be one.” “Somewhere along the way, that’s got lost. Heels became cooler than the babyface. That’s not how it should be. That’s not how he sees it, either. I mean, the man wears a cut-off turtleneck. There’s nothing cool about what he’s doing.”
Christian Cage is scheduled to compete in the AEW World Championship at AEW Double or Nothing.
