Mick Foley decided to distance himself from WWE due to the Stamford-based promotion's with Donald Trump. Due to the US President's hurtful comments on the death of the film director Rob Reiner, the WWE Hall of Famer was extremely angry. Foley claimed that he will not extend his Legends Contract with WWE when it ends in June 2026.
The veteran was unhappy with WWE's association with Trump, whom he regarded to be driving the country towards autocracy. He further added to have informed WWE of not wishing to make any future appearances as long as Trump is in the White House as the US President or in any capacity.

"I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy. Last night, I informed WWE talent relations that I would not be making any appearances for the company as long as this man remains in office," Foley wrote in his post on Instagram.

Mick then added that he will not extend his Legends Contract with WWE when it ends in June 2026. While he claimed to love WWE and was grateful for everything the company meant for him, Foley claimed he had stood enough with them.

"Additionally, I will not be signing a new Legends deal when my current one expires in June. I love WWE, will always treasure my time with them, and I am deeply appreciative for all the opportunities they afforded me. But, in the words of Popeye the sailor, ’I stands all I can stands, and I can’t stands no more,’ " Foley added.
