WWE is moving quickly to lock up its biggest talents before they become free agents as several talent contracts are about to expire. Reports state that WWE has already contacted several performers regarding re-signing, which represents a change from the more lenient approach observed earlier this year.

Kevin Owens is a well-known figure in these contract negotiations. Although Owens hasn't signed anything yet, a WWE insider stated that he has been approached about a new contract. WWE is trying to ensure Owens' future before rival organizations approach him because his contract is about to expire at the end of this year.

Given that he was said to have inked a new contract that would extend his previous one by three years beyond its expiration in January 2022, it is most probable that his current one will expire at the end of January. Sami Zayn, Owens's tag team partner and close buddy, also inked a new contract in January 2022, which many have assumed was also for three years.

And speaking of future promotions, it's been rumoured that AEW has been considering Owens for a while. If he becomes a free agent, sources close to AEW have shown a strong desire to sign him. AEW is anticipated to make a sizable offer to get Owens to join them if he chooses not to re-sign with WWE.

WWE has already been successful in re-signing big names like Sheamus, Angel Garza, Cedric Alexander, Natalya, Humberto Carrillo, Shayna Baszler, Drew McIntyre, and Nikki Cross in 2024. Kevin Owens is one of the next important stars WWE hopes to have on its roster, and the company is obviously focused on keeping it strong.

Kevin Owens has made a name for himself as an important member of WWE.

Fans are left to wonder if Kevin Owens will continue with WWE or look for possibilities elsewhere, maybe in AEW, where there is an evident mutual interest since his contract status is unclear. Over the past few years, Owens has made a name for himself as an important member of WWE. According to those with knowledge of the matter, he is expected to re-sign with WWE because the organization has taken good care of him and included him heavily in main event narratives.
