AEW's Miro has reportedly were asked to be released from the roster. The star wrestler is claimed to be returning to WWE. The Russian wrestler was in WWE as 'Rusev' in the PG Era from 2010 to 2020. Since then, he has been with AEW. But in the last few weeks, the star wrestler has not gotten enough screen time on AEW shows.
The news comes amidst CJ Perry asking for her release from AEW. When the duo were in WWE, they formed a great pair. While Rusev was a good wrestler, Perry aka Lana acted as his manager and took care of the business. Many expected them to return to WWE after a long time.
Rusev made a name for himself when he was in WWE. It came as a surprise for many fans when he decided to make a move to AEW. It surprises many fans now as Miro has asked for his release. Some feel he might not return to WWE.
Is Rusev to have a feud with Joe Hendry?
There is a chance of him moving to other rosters like TNA. The major claim is because Joe Hendry is on the roster. When Rusev was at his peak, Joe was not even a proper wrestler. In one of the segments, Hendry acted as a spokesperson for Rusev.
As the tables have turned now, Rusev is no more the star he once was. On the other hand, Joe is probably at the peak of his career and is the most 'over' wrestler currently after Jey Uso. There could be a case of Rusev showing an interest in wrestling with Hendry.
The claims of him returning to WWE cannot be disregarded either, as Joe can show up on the main rosters of the Stamford-based company as well. TKO has made possible the crossovers between WWE and TNA. AEW might be missing a big talent in the form of Miro. It will be a gain for either WWE or TNA.
