How has Gunther embodied himself as a top heel on WWE Raw?

Gunther has had a massive transformation in a matter of a few weeks. Just before SummerSlam, Gunther as a heel was someone who was trying to find himself among the fans. In his defense, there were not highly credible opponents. However, since he had the challenge against Damian Priest, the Ring General has turned out to be a great heel.

In the feud against Priest, Gunther brought the personal life of the former world champion into the equation. The King of the Ring claimed that Damian was nothing but a Street Trash. His top gear as a heel started from there and has reached a new level in the ongoing feud with Randy Orton. He has regarded the entire family of the Viper as 'Screw-ups'.

Just a few months back, he got little to no reaction from the fans. As a heel, one can be regarded successful if they attract the highest number of booes from the fans. For instance, Dirty Dom has got all the heat in the world when he turned against Rey Mysterio at the Clash at the Castle in 2022. Since then, Dominik has not been allowed to speak a word properly by the fans.

Top gear of Gunther as a heel

In the latest episode of Raw, something similar happened with Gunther. As he entered the arena to address Randy, the fans did not allow him to talk properly. The Ring General was booed by the fans. It seems like the world champion's promo against Randy had a huge impact on the fans. In a way, the fans loved to see him be the current version of himself as a heel.

Gunther is likely to only get better from here. Even in the ring, he is a tough man who does not show any emotion after getting beaten up badly. The best example of it was at SummerSlam. Despite blood flowing from his chest thanks to vicious chops from Priest, Gunther showed no emotion. Someone like Damian was shocked to see the commitment of the Ring General.
