The film’s logline reads: “When a self-absorbed movie star (Cena) discovers that his co-star/man in the chair (Hart) is an actual agent, he’s forced to swallow his pride and accept that action stars aren’t really action heroes…while trying to save the world.”
Hart will produce under his Hartbeat company’s multi-film deal with Netflix. His past Netflix projects include Fatherhood, Me Time, and Lift. Cena will serve as executive producer.
John Cena recently lost to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam in an Undisputed WWE Championship match
This will not be Cena’s first time producing an action comedy. For Amazon, he produced Heads of State, which became a massive hit and the fourth most-watched Amazon MGM film of all time.
Cena also has other projects lined up, including Coyote vs. Acme and season two of the hit HBO Max series Peacemaker.
Away from acting, Cena recently competed at SummerSlam in an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes, which he lost. After the match, he was attacked by Brock Lesnar, who made a surprise return.
