In the SummerSlam 2025 Post-show talk, Triple H claimed that John Cena wanted to wrestle Brock Lesnar. In a talk with Adam Glyn, Cena indirectly rejected it, claiming he follows the creative booking. The Leader of the Cenation Army felt the WWE Universe is doing its best to make the most exciting shows for the fans.

The 17-time world champion claimed he has been saying for 25 years that he follows the creative booking and has no control over how his story goes. Cena addressed that he had just about 12 dates left in his retirement tour, and SummerSlam was an indication that the fans slowly started to realize that his end as an active WWE Superstar was approaching its end soon.

"I've been saying the same thing for 25 years. They deal 'em, I play 'em. You know, I'm just really excited. We've about 12 of these left. I think SummerSlam was an indication from the audience where everybody knows where we're closing our book," said Cena in a small talk with Adam Glyn.

The star wrestler added that the end of his chapter does not mean the end of WWE. He felt the creative team was trying to deliver the best experience for their fans while he was still with them. He concluded his talk by saying he's just following what he has been instructed to do.

"And just because I close my book in December, that doesn't mean the WWE closes its books. They got to continue their programming going forward. So they’re just trying to make the most exciting shows for the fans. A dozen of them I got left. They deal 'em, I play 'em," Cena added.
