Becky Lynch went up to Lyra Valkyria's fiancé, LJ Cleary, at the ringside, and trash-talked with him during their match on WWE Backlash 2025. The Man, who had the advantage over her opponent till that point in the match, went to the ringside and asked Cleary if she was his girl who was getting beaten badly by her in the night.
Cleary was in the front row on the ringside to watch the biggest match of Lyra's career. The Man realised it and tried to take a dig at both Lyra and her fiancé. She dragged the Irish Superstar down the ringside to where he was seated.

By beating Lyra in front of him, Becky Lynch asked LJ if she was the girl he loved. She then dragged Valkyria back to the ring and continued the match, while Cleary continued to support Lyra. From that point in the match, Valkyria started to have the upper hand.
Why Lyra Valkyria beat Becky Lynch at WWE Backlash 2025?
Without a doubt, it was the biggest match of Lyra's career to date, and she gave one of the best performances of her career. Valkyria gave the best performance of her career since joining the main roster. It was a highly necessary win for her.

Since becoming the IC Champion, Lyra hasn't had worthy opponents. Her feuds lacked substance and needed a worthy opponent. There could not have been a better opponent than The Man to elevate her. Lyra's win at Backlash meant the company has big plans for her.
Given Becky's heel turn, one would have naturally expected her to end Valkyria's title run, especially because it has lasted more than 100 days so far. But with her win over Becky, it is apparent that Valkyria could be pushed as an emerging face of the Women's division.
