Awesome Truth defend their World Tag Team Championship against DIY on Monday Night Raw

R Truth and The Miz successfully defended their title on Monday Night Raw. The Awesome Truth managed to beat DIY in their maiden title defense of the World Tag Team Championship. The match was dominated by DIY for the most parts. However, like it has always been the case, the duo of Johnny Gargano and Ciampa came so close only to end up being so far from the title.

Right from the word go, DIY seemed to have an upper hand. Gargano dominated the Miz and tried to beat him out. After that, the former world champion made a tag to R Truth. The partner of the Miz took to himself to get their team back in the match. R Truth gave a tribute to his Childhood hero John Cena and brought some of his moves to the match.

Just when R Truth was about to deliver an AA, Ciampa helped Gargano to move away from the impact. The duo took out The Miz outside the ring. Inside the ring, they aimed to take out R Truth. Their domination in the match continued. Given their performance, it seemed a tough title defense for the Awesome Truth duo. At one point, it seemed like DIY would emerge victorious.

Just when Gargano aimed to pin Truth, Miz pulled him away to keep the battle alive. He made himself available for the tag and got the support from Truth. It was The Miz who took charge of the match.

The experienced campaigner delivered a toe crushing finale to Ciampa. As R Truth recovered, the duo delivered a double toe crushing finale to Gargano and pinned their regeneration X teammate to claim a win. After the match, DIY's Ciampa seemed unhappy and rejected to share a show of mutual respect from the duo of Awesome Truth.
