Overview
Alberto El Patron has officially exited AAA after losing to El Mesias in a career-threatening match.
His AAA Mega Championship reign ended earlier at TripleMania Regia against El Hijo del Vikingo.
Despite past rumors, WWE reportedly has no interest in bringing Alberto back, now or in the future.
Alberto El Patron (fka Alberto Del Rio) faced El Mesias on Friday in AAA with a stipulation that if Alberto lost, he would be out of AAA. The match ended in El Mesias' favor, and as a result, Alberto is out of the company. At the TripleMania Regia, Alberto dropped the AAA Mega Championship belt against El Hijo del Vikingo.
The loss to Vikingo came just after WWE acquired AAA in April this year. Alberto has been out of WWE for a long time, and the recent loss to El Mesias means he is nowhere near a return to the company in any capacity.

Alberto was one of the top stars for AAA before WWE acquired the Mexico-based promotion. He made a return to the promotion in March 2023 and won the AAA Mega Championship after defeating Nic Nemeth in August 2024 at the Triplemanía XXXII: Mexico City. His reign ended after 287 days.
Alberto claimed on many occasions that WWE was interested in bringing him back. He even went on to say that the promotion was likely to have him back during the Royal Rumble. However, a source told Fightful Select that “if we wanted Alberto at all, much less in the Royal Rumble, he’d be here.”
After acquiring the AAA, the WWE kept Alberto out of any promotional material and rushed the angle between Alberto and Vikingo. The former WWE champion had to drop the AAA Mega Championship belt to Vikingo. WWE received a lot of backlash from fans in Mexico because of this move.
There are no plans for Alberto in WWE
As per a Fightful Select report, WWE sources have claimed that WWE has maintained its stance and has no plans for Alberto. The current storyline between Alberto and El Mesias was not a storyline, but the former World Champion has actually exited the company.

It is certain that both sides have no plans to work together in the near future. Alberto has had a troublesome history after exiting WWE and took personal digs at WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque aka Triple H in several interviews. He publicly apologized for the same in the last few years; however, it looks like the bridges have been burned.
