The World No. 3 finishes the year with three Grand Slam final appearances and a title on home soil. However, despite these achievements, Zverev expressed clear disappointment with his overall season. After getting eliminated from the World Tour Finals, he openly stated how unsatisfied he felt with his performances this year. He also confirmed that he will participate in the upcoming Davis Cup.

“Yeah, I'll play. I'll play the Davis Cup. For me, an incredibly unsatisfying season. The tennis season is long, you have a lot of up and downs. For me there were not many ups. I think for me the Australian Open final, Munich as you mentioned. Everything else, I'm very unsatisfied. Yeah, that's it.”

"Staying fit is number one for me priority" - Zverev

Looking ahead, Zverev shared that his biggest priority will be staying fit.

“Yeah, I mean, staying fit is number one for me priority because then I can build. It's as simple as that. I feel like over the last month I was still building up quite nicely. I feel like my level has been improving. Today it was nowhere near what it was the last month,” he said.

“But yeah, I mean, look, I'll play Davis Cup, then I'll take some time off, then I'll have some time to think about it. Right now it's a disappointment with the loss. It's not only a disappointment with the loss, it's a disappointment with how I performed with my capabilities. The last couple days, I definitely played better. For me, that's the most disappointing,” Zverev further concluded.
