ATP Tennis No. 2 Alexander Zverev lost his third Grand Slam finals and this time the 2025 Australian Open Grand Slam to Sinner. The Italian and the World no 1 Jannik Sinner was too good and defeated Zverev in three straight sets. Jannik won the finals by 6-3, 7(7)-6(4), 6-3 winning his second Australian grand slam in the Rod Laver Arena. Sinner even comforted Crying Zverev during the post-match presentation. But the biggest highlight was when Alexander Zverev was asked to give his speech.

'Australia Believes Olya and Brenda' Shout

Before Zverev started his speech a woman inside the arena shouted “Australia Believes Olya and Brenda.” She shouted back to back as the German waited a few seconds before starting his speech. The woman was referring to the Assault accusations over Alexander Zverev by his former girlfriends.

The German faced multiple allegations of domestic abuse and assault over the years. His ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova accused him of abusing her physically including punching and forcibly covering her face with a pillow. In 2023 fresh allegations were made against him by his ex-partner Brenda Patea. She accused him of pushing her to the wall and choking her during an intense argument. Sasha faced the ATP tribunal and agreed to pay fines and out-of-court settlement to his ex-girlfriends without admitting guilt.

But his allegations have followed him to the 2025 Australian Open and he was shocked to hear the shouting from the crowd. Zverev was always very aggressive during games and often argued with Tennis Match Referees. Tennis is an intense game and at the peak of the moment, players get angry when the results don't go their way. Once he even hit a Refrees chair with his racquet breaking it after the results didn't go his way. But Alexander Zverev is a great tennis player and being without a grand slam will hurt him more than these personal Allegations. He played three grand slam finals in his career and lost all three.
