On the final Day of the Laver Cup Carlos Alcaraz defeated the US Open Runner and Team World’s Taylor Fritz and gave a thrilling win to Team Europe in Berlin. The team celebrated with Champagne and rejoiced with captain Bjorn Borg.

Team World are favorites to win the Laver Cup this year as they went to the final day of the tournament leading 8-4. The Laver Cup point system is the same as golf’s Ryder Cup as whoever gets to 13 points first will win the tournament.

Europe began to give a fightback on Sunday as the Alcaraz and Casper Rudd pair defeated Team World's Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe and won the doubles. Ben Shelton then defeated Danii Medvedev 6-7 (6), 7-5, 10-7 and gave them the lead. But in the match against Alexander Zverev the American Frances Tiafoe lost his chance to seal the Laver Cup for the third time.

Then the title fight went to the showdown in the final match between Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz. Whoever wins the Match will hand their team the Laver Cup trophy. Taylor Fritz was the best player in Team World and Carlos Alcaraz was the best in Team Europe.

Team Europe's Victory Dance

The Four-time grand slam winner easily defeated Taylor Fritz 6-2, 7-5 in straight sets and handed Team Europe their fifth Laver Cup victory. Now Team Europe Leads the Laver Cup 5-2 against Team World. Team Europe’s Captain Bjorn Borg will exit after completing his successful tenure with the team.  After winning the game Team Europe celebrated the win with champagne pouring all over.

Carlos Alcaraz said “We did it for you” and hugged his captain Borg. Talking about the win Captain Bjorn Borg said “It's always tough to play Team World at Laver Cup. Im very proud of my team.” Many players in Team Europe like Nadal, Sinner, Djokovic, and Rune exited the tournament before the start citing injuries. But even then Team Europe triumphed in the Tournament.
