Make Novak Djokovic a candidate for Serbian president now. He might register a landslide victory. Ever since the men’s singles final at the Paris Olympics, the 37-year-old has been living his dream. He has won almost everything in the sport with his historic gold medal win last week.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion had tried four times before to win this elusive title, but he only got it on the final attempt. In a riveting summit clash at Roland Garros, the veteran defeated his new nemesis and Spain's young sensation Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(3), 7-6(2).
Since then, the Serbian has been in a celebratory mood, and why not? Recently, he was spotted in Croatia with his wife. Meanwhile, the latest pictures and videos on social media suggest that the seven-time Wimbledon champion has arrived back home. And guess what? He received a rousing reception from the Serbs.

With his Olympic triumph, Djokovic has certainly put himself on the top of the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) list in tennis. He is one of the five players to complete Career Golden Slams.
“I don’t know. I’m overwhelmed with everything I’m feeling right now. Feeling different emotions. Too proud. Too happy. Thrilled with the possibility to win gold for the first time in my career for my country,” Djokovic said after his win.
“Arguably the biggest success I had. I won probably everything there is to win in my individual career. Winning Davis Cup and particularly a golden medal at age 37 for Serbia is unprecedented. I’m just starting my celebration. I can’t wait for what’s coming up in the next 48 hours,” the World No. 2 added.
