The 2025 Dubai Open WTA 1000 tournament is underway and we are heading into the final stages. The semi-final game is already played and we have Mirra Andreeva winning against world no 7 Elena Rybakina 6-4, 4-6 and 6-3. She is now the youngest ever player to reach a WTA 100 Finals. In the other match, Clara Tauson beat WTA No 14 Karolina Muchova and entered the finals.
The two battled for almost three hours and in the end, the Denmark player emerged victorious by defeating the Czech player 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3. The game was too intense as it went for nearly three hours with both players fighting hard to enter the Dubai Open WTA 1000 final. The First set was easy for Clara to hold on to and won with a clear lead.

The second set was difficult as both levelled by 4-4. The tiebreak was the hardest part of the match and in the end, Karolina Muchova won the set by a small margin after a hard-fought battle. In the third set, Muchova tried to take on her opponent very early with a lead, but the Denmark player was too good as she came back stronger and won the game.
'Shot of the Tournament' by Elena Rybakina
The biggest highlight of the semi-finals was one particular tennis shot played by Muchova, which could be easily called the ‘Shot of the Tournament’. It was the third set, Clara Tauson started the serve and Karolina was defending. Both were stuck at 2-2 with Clara having an advantage point. Tauson served which was defended by Muchova so she immediately went for a drop shot.

Then the Czech player ran toward the ball and hit the ball high. Having expected the shot Tauson hit the ball behind Muchova's head and went near the nets waiting for her opponent to miss the ball or go wide. The Czech player unexpectedly hit a tweener (between the legs) and the ball went behind Tauson’s head and all she could do was, watch the ball go inside the line and become a point.
Clara lost her advantage and the crowd were on their feet cheering Muchova for her incredible presence of mind and skill. Eventhough Karolina played some outstanding shots during the match, she couldn't win against Clara Tauson as she lost the match by two sets. The finals will be played between the youngest WTA 100 finalists Mirra Andreeva and Clara Tauson in the centre court.
