In her previous meeting with Mirra Andreeva at the 2024 Cincinnati Open, Iga fought back after losing the first set and won the next two sets. After defeating Iga, Andreeva said, “Last time we played was a close match and it was tough, it was intense, This time I just tried to tell myself to go for my shots, to be aggressive, to not hesitate. I think that helped me to win in a way.”
Mirra also said she consulted a psychologist to work on her anger management issues during games. She feels it has worked in her favour during the game against Iga. She looks like the next big thing in Tennis and if she continues her form she will be a grand slam winner within two years.
Iga Swiatek is a five-time grand slam winner but the last 6 months have been a roller coaster ride for her. She lost the Australian Grand Slam, was caught for doping, and had many issues with her gameplay. She made 33 unforced errors and didn't hit the ball inside the line.
