Holger Rune declared his arrival in the world of tennis after he defeated 24-time Grand Slam Winner Novak Djokovic in the finals of the Paris Masters in 2022. Rune has, however, failed to make an impact in the last few years, owing to a lack of form. He failed to reach the final 8 in any competition up until Indian Wells.

Following his early exit from the Miami Open 2025, Rune took a break from the court as he attended American rapper Travis Scott's concert in Miami. Rune took to his Instagram to share the moment of Scot rapping one of his best songs, 'Fein'

Before Miami Open, Holger Rune advanced to the final of the Indian Wells Masters, overcoming formidable opponents such as Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev along the way. Although he was easily defeated by Jack Draper in the final match, this impressive run marked a moment of change for the Tennis star, especially as he had failed to make deep inroads into events for a long time.

"Not the final I dreamt about. But happy to be on the right track. Draper was on it this week and deserved the title here. I went one step closer after 7 semifinals the past year, nice to be in a final again, but now I am hungry for the real trophies. One more step next time. Thanks for the amazing support  at this fantastic tournament." Rune said.
