British WTA star Emma Raducanu has reached the Korean Open Quarterfinals after defeating 8th-seeded Yue Yuan. Raducanu defeated Yue  6-4, 6-3 in straight sets to advance to the next stage of the tournament. The match took 124 minutes to finish. Emma took 17 minutes for her final service game. In the second set, she served eight aces taking advantage of the game. In the previous round of the Korean Open, she defeated America’s Peyton Stearns after a 3-hour run. Now she won against Yuan Yue under 2 hours.

Before No 70 now No 57

Emma delivered 11 Aces and was well ahead. Her performance in the match looked like she had upgraded from the Peyton Stearns match. Raducanu was in control in most of the games serving at 5-2 but Yuan gave a good fight back with 4 match points. Finally, Raducanu finished the game on her seventh match point. Emma started the tournament as world no 70, she climbed 16 places and is now 54 in the live rankings.

The former US Open Grand Slam winner came under fire after she failed to play Paris Olympics games. She said she doesn't want to overdo things. She doesn't want to win every game on clay, grass and hard courts. She said, “I have to prioritize and Asia was one of those for me. So I stacked the year on the backend heavily because I’m excited. I thrive in Asia. It's where I truly feel like home.”

“The key to my success today was trying to let go of any frustration that happened. Closing out the match, I had a lot of match points and couldn't convert, so just staying focused and breaking in that last game.” Emma has reached her fifth quarter-finals of the year. She will now be awaiting the winner of the Daria Kasatkina- Hailey Baptiste match.
