The US Open Grand Slam winner Aryna Sabalenka’s coach Anton Dubrov believes that there is still a lot of room for improvement in moving, mental, and technical aspects of her game. Aryna Sabalenka had won her third grand slam title by winning in New York. She had won two grand slams in the same season one in Australia and another in the US. She already won the Australian Open in 2023.

Want to be World No 1 this year

She is in a good position to openly challenge World number 1 Iga Swiatek for the number 1 position in WTA end of this season. When asked about what sabalenka could improve upon Dubrov said, “Honestly, Like everything.”

He said, “Starting with the movement, with the mental part also, there are things she can improve. She’s much  better but she can still improve. And the technical part you never stop. Because there is always room to improve. And as you can see from all the champions, from their careers, the way they were on top all the time, if you look how they were at 19 and how they were at 35, its like two completely different people, so there’s always something to improve.” Sabalenka also mentioned that in a recent interview she wishes to reclaim the world's number 1 Spot from Iga Swiatek. Her coach first wants Sabalenka to recover and be healthy.

He says, “The goal is first to be fit and healthy because it's going to take a while to recover. The main goal for us this season is to finish on a high note. Right now, I would say we can talk about the No 1 Spot, to finish this year as No 1 is really a cool goal. But as I said, This took (Pointing American hardcourts) so much energy and emotions so first of all we need to also learn how we can recover as fast as we can and set those goals.” Sabalenka will be returning next week. She is expected to play the WTA 1000 China Open in Beijing. The tournament will be played by the worlds top 10 ranked woman.
