Tennis star Casper Ruud has recently talked about dealing with mental health challenges after storming into the semi-final of the Mutua Madrid Open 2025. The star player defeated Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals with a scoreline of 6-3, 7-5 to make it to the last four rounds.

Casper Ruud's stellar comeback in the ATP clay court tournament

The star player has eased into this 1000 ATP clay-court Masters after suffering a quarter-final exit in the Barcelona Open 2025. The Norway-born star commenced his tournament after defeating Arthur Rinderknech, Sebastian Korda, and Taylor Fritz in the initial rounds before toppling the Russian star in the quarter-finals to make it to the semis.

He has talked about overcoming mental health issues after making it to the semi-finals of the Madrid Open. He revealed that he was not mentally well and sought help, which has helped him in overcoming depression. The 26-year-old tennis star has also opened up about feeling exhausted with a hectic life on the tour and how help from someone helps him.

Ruud reveals that he felt better when he sought help, which allowed him to wake up every day with a big smile. The 26-year-old star player acknowledged that he is happy and honest with himself, which helped him to improve his performance on the ATP tours.

"I'm kind of feeling not great mentally this year, but I've sought help, which has really worked for me, and I've been feeling a quick response and feeling a lot better, so that's really helped to have someone to talk to about certain things. It's a tough life in many ways, and a lot of travel days, and it just got to a point where it felt like it was getting too much, but I've really seeked help and it's been working," Casper Ruud said.
