Tennis star Aryna Sabalenka has recently shared a hilarious anecdote to showcase the major difference between her and rival Iga Swiatek. The star player made these telling comments while sharing a behind-the-scenes look after her stellar Madrid Open victory.

The world number one has shared a glimpse of her conversation with her team as she was asked about the number of shoes she has. The Belarusian stated that she had just left two in her locker room. However, she amusingly revealed Iga Swiatek's locker details.

Sabalenka stated that she saw around eight or nine pairs of shoes under Swiatek's locker and talked about how much more prepared the Polish star is on the WTA tour as compared to her. The video of this candid talk has been widely shared on social media.

"I mean, I’m not like Iga, you know why, guys? The other day I was in the locker room and I had only one pair of shoes and I forgot the other one. And I looked at her locker and there was like, under the locker was nine, I think nine or eight pairs of shoes. And I was like, 'Yeah, someone is really professional and someone is just me.' So bad, I am!" Sabalenka said.

Sabalenka and Swiatek's Madrid Open 2025 run

Aryna Sabalenka is the Mutua Madrid Open 2025 champion. The Belarusian star has defeated USA star Coco Gauff in the final showdown to grab her third title of this year. On the other hand, Iga Swiatek failed to defend her title here after Coco Gauff defeated her in the semi-final clash at the Spanish capital.

What's next for Sabalenka and Swiatek?

The top two tennis stars will now be set in action in the Italian Open 2025, taking place from May 9th in Rome, to bolster the preparations for the French Open 2025.
