Winning these two mega Grand Slam tournaments in the same year is always a great achievement for an athlete and a lot of players have achieved it.

The Roland Garros is supposed to be one of the toughest and most gruelling tournaments in the world while Wimbledon is known for its classy and pleasant outlook which a lot of fans are attracted to. It is safe to say that these two Grand Slams are one of the biggest tournaments in Tennis, which is why winning the two in the same year which is known as a channel slam is always a huge achievement for the players.

The newest addition to this list is the Spanish prodigy Carlos Alcaraz after winning his second consecutive Wimbledon title and winning his maiden Roland Garros title this season is in top form and is the 6th player to achieve this feat. This has been one of the most iconic seasons for Alcaraz. He is no doubt one of the best tennis players now who has won four Grand Slam titles and is achieving more and more success going forward. It is safe to say that he will continue to be regarded as one of the upcoming stars of tennis who will be the most dominant after the big three.

The last person to achieve this feat before the Spaniard was the Serbian powerhouse Novak Djokovic who had one of his best seasons of his career in 2021. Djokovic had already started the season well by winning the Australian Open, but that was not enough as he went on to get his hands on the Wimbledon and the French Open title. There is no doubt that Roger Federer was the god of Wimbledon and still holds the most titles of this season, but he still had to wait a long time to get his hands on the Roland Garros title in Paris. This was perhaps one of the achievements he cherished the most as he beat Robin Soderling in 2009 to win the title in Paris. The Maestro does not stop there as he also went on to win his 6th Wimbledon title and became the fourth player to complete a channel slam. This was the only achievement that was missing in his career and this was the day when it finally happened.

3. Rafael Nadal (2008 and 2010)

If you thought that Roger Federer was the first of the big three to achieve this milestone you will have to think again because this is also the era where Rafael Nadal had come into the scene. There is no doubt that Nadal was already regarded as the King of Clay since 2005, but showed us that he was another legend in the making by defeating a dominant Roger Federer in 2008 and became only the third player to win a Channel slam. Nadal did not stop there as he went on to achieve it in 2010 when he won the French Open again and went on to win his second Wimbledon title after beating Tomas Berdych.

We all knew how good Borg was on Grass, but we also forget that he was an equally great player on clay. He is also the only player to complete 3 Channel Slams in a row, which is still an unbeaten record in the World of tennis. He was also the first player in 9 years to achieve this feat which made his legendary status grow even more throughout his career. There is a reason why he is one of the biggest legends of the game.

Rod Laver was one of the most dominant players in the 60s and continued his dominance throughout his career. Laver is also known to be the first-ever player to achieve a Channel Slam in tennis in 1969 winning the Wimbledon and French Open. This is the reason he is on top of this list. The legacy of this great Australian player is hard to live up to and this athlete who changed the game of Tennis is remembered as one of the greats of the game with a tournament named after him as well.
