'Much more SHRIEKING ahead of us' - Fans react as Aryna Sabalenka surpases Iga Swiatek to become the World number 1

The fans on social media react to Aryna Sabalenka overtaking Iga Swiatek as the World number 1 this season. Another great achievement for the Belarusian superstar who has got back to the top of the rankings. Some great reactions from the fans who have finally seen the Tiger reclaim her kingdom after some incredible performances during the hard court season.

The battle for the number 1 spot is getting really intense in the WTA scene with Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka being the favorites this season. Though at the start of the season, we saw Swiatek completely dominating the competition, it was Sabalenka who impressed us mostly towards the end of the season and is also getting closer to the number 1 spot winning 3 titles during the hard court season.

Fans react to Sabalenka overtaking Swiatek

At the beginning of the season, it seemed like Iga Swiatek was the clear favorite to finish as the World number 1 this season, however, Sabalenka continued getting closer to the top at the back end of the season by not only winning the US Open but winning 2 WTA 1000 titles in Cincinnati but in Wuhan as well. This was enough to put her back on the top of the rankings with 9706 points overtaking Swiatek to become the WTA World number 1. This has made some of the fans really happy and they have congratulated her on social media as well. It was one of Sabalenka's goals to finish as the World number 1 and there is a big chance of her finally accomplishing that.

There are also some fans who are still backing Swiatek, which makes this battle of finishing on top of the WTA rankings even more intense. Everyone will be waiting to see which one of these big stars will finally achieve this in the upcoming WTA finals which will be taking place in Riyadh.
