Roland Garros 2024: Carlos Alcaraz wins Maiden Roland Garros title after beating Zverev in thrilling 5-set final

Carlos Alcaraz beats Alexander Zverev in an intense and long five-set final to win his first-ever Roland Garros title and 3rd Grand Slam title. A great win for the talented 21-year-old Spaniard.

The time has come when we finally see who will take the Paris crown this season as this is the last day of the Roland Garros tournament. This is the time when we see who will be the French Open champion for the year 2024 in the men's single tournament. This will finally be the end of the Clay season finale which has given us some great matches this season.

The two finalists of the Roland Garros were Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev, who have undoubtedly been the top performers in this tournament. While Alcaraz is looking for his first Roland Garros title, the German sensation was looking forward to getting his hands on his first-ever Grand Slam title this season. This final to watch out for featured two top-ranked players in the mix.

Alcaraz wins Roland Garros 2024

We all knew that Alcaraz would look to give a great start every time he stepped onto the court. Once again, the Spaniard took the first set by a score of 6-3 and put the pressure on the German immediately. However, Alexander Zverev came back in the following set winning by a score of 6-2, coming back into the match straight away. The third set was neck in neck which saw both the players break services, but it was finally Zverev who took the set 7-5 only one set away from a Grand Slam title. For Alcaraz, this was a do-or-die set. The 4th set saw the Spaniard come back most brutally with a score of 6-1.  This once again turns out to be a game that goes down to the fifth and final set. 

The last and final set also belonged to the Spaniard as Alcaraz went on to win his first-ever Roland Garros title and became the youngest player to win a Grand Slam on all surfaces. This was another great and thrilling final which we witnessed and saw Alcaraz fight his way through in the match after losing two sets in a row. This is now his 3rd Grand Slam title and he will remember this victory for a long time.
