Tennis star Alexander Zverev has reached an out-of-court settlement with his former girlfriend, who accused him of domestic violence back in May 2020. According to sources, the German-born star made the settlement for 200,000 euros. Notably, the great player was fined and handed a penalty of around 400,000 euros back in November after her girlfriend made allegations against him in 2021. The couple has been blessed with one daughter as well.

However, Zverev's lawyer revealed that both of them had settled their issues, and the child would be staying with the mother. The reports further revealed that the German-born star has been innocent since the start.

“The process against Alexander Zverev was shelved today by the court with the agreement of the prosecutor’s office and Ms Brenda Patea. Alexander Zverev agreed to this ... to shorten the process, especially in the interest of the child they have together. Alexander Zverev remains innocent,” the player’s lawyers said in a statement.

If I do that then playing five sets all of a sudden is not that difficult: Zverev

Meanwhile, Zverev will be next seen in action during the semi-finals of the French Open 2024 against Casper Ruud. The star player had outclassed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinal game, while Novak withdrew from the event, which allowed Ruud to enter directly into the semifinals. The 27-year-old is extremely excited to be part of another semi-final game, and he is set to push himself beyond his limits.

“I’m happy to be in another semi-final. Hopefully, I can win one. Everybody in the press keeps asking me what I do for recovery and the answer is very simple you don’t recover after matches, you recover in the off-season. I have the mindset you have to work harder than everyone else to be the best player. I like to work to my absolute limit. If I do that then playing five sets all of a sudden is not that difficult,” said Zverev.
