The 38-year-old tennis legend stated that nothing much has changed so far, as he was still winning the title two years back. However, Nadal was seen highlighting the rise of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who have been dominating the sport in recent days. He also talked about Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, Jakub Mensik, and Jack Draper winning ATP titles this year.
Alexander Zverev eyes his first Grand Slam glory in the French Open
For Alexander Zverev, the Spanish legend stated that his Grand Slam drought has been a mental issue. The star player has reached the finals of the French Open 2024 but lost the game against Carlos Alcaraz. He must be aiming to win his first title here in Paris.
"There are two players who stand head and shoulders above the rest, Carlos (Alcaraz) and Jannik (Sinner). Others, like Draper, are evolving, Rune won in Barcelona, Casper (Ruud) played very well in Madrid, Mensik won in Miami. We'll also have to see how Fonseca develops. Zverev is an impressive player, but he hasn't yet managed to win a Grand Slam. Unfortunately, I think it's all in his head, because given his level of tennis, he should have won one by now," Nadal said.
