Paula Badosa recently saw a dominating victory over Peyton Stearns in 2024 Cincinnati Open Women's Singles at the grandstand. Following her victory, fans got to see an adorable moment from the Spanish pro as her boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas was also competing in the Men's Singles at the same time.

During the after match interview, Stefanos also came up as he was still playing his opponent Jan-Lennard Struff while her game was done. She revealed that playing as the same time as her boyfriend was quite rough for her. She explains that this was due to Stefanos losing his first set and the announcement was distracting her from her own game.

“It’s not easy to play on the grandstand and hearing his result all the time like there was a few times I was like, shit, he lost the set. Paula, focus, Focus on your match because I continue hearing him. But yeah, it’s not easy playing at the same time. So next time guys put me a different time,” she said.

The host jokes that this was all organized, so the couple can win together. Thankful, after losing out on the initial set, Stefanos made a recovery and managed to tun the game in his favour. In a sense, the plan did come true.

A steady comeback for Badosa

Following a long struggle in her career after her back injury, Paula Badosa has been steadily making progress. Talking about her time, Badosa said, “at the beginning of the year, what I missed the most was my consistency, trying to play long rallies, I think that’s my biggest trait and I missed that. Basically, I wasn’t the same, so I had to start to get fit again, start to look like an athlete because I lost that.”

Badosa further told that she was feeling much better after recovery. With her condition looking good, she started to give her best, physically, as she admits she always had the game mentally and have been making progress.
