A massive 2,600-square-metre poster greets the Spanish legend. Set against a blue backdrop, two powerful words encapsulate the sentiment of every fan: Gracias, Rafa, just days before Spain faces the Netherlands in the quarter-finals on Tuesday, the 19th.

Nadal confidently stated that his preparation has been strong, leading to his presence in this crucial match. He committed to approaching it one day at a time. The Mallorcan acknowledged to the Spanish Tennis Federation that, despite a break from competition, he is eager to make the most of the week ahead.

"I’m here to relish this week and then we’ll see what happens." said 22-time Grand Slam  winner.

Nadal is reflecting on an incredible chapter in his life as he approaches its conclusion, embracing these final moments with gratitude and acknowledging that every journey has its start and finish.

"I’ve been able to prepare pretty well, which is why I’m here, I’ll have to take it day by day. I haven’t competed for a while and I really just want to experience this week however I can." Nadal added.

He emphasizes the importance of listening to his body during training, and if he doesn't feel prepared to compete for the singles title, he will prioritize his well-being and opt out of participating.

"If I don’t feel ready, I’ll be the first to speak to the captain, I’ve already told him on a few occasions not to make any decisions based on the fact that it’s my last week as a professional tennis player." Nadal added.

Since achieving his first ATP Tour victory 22 seasons ago in Mallorca at just 15, he has amassed an impressive total of 1,080 wins. This remarkable success has led to him securing 92 ATP Tour titles, including an extraordinary 22 Grand Slams and 36 ATP Masters 1000s.

"I couldn’t ask for more, I’m very grateful and satisfied with everything that has happened to me over all these years,’ he said about his legacy." stated Nadal.
