'My target is a Grand Slam...'- Nick Kyrgios on making his return in December

Former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios made a big statement as he announced his return in December for the World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi. The Australian hopes to win a Grand Slam title and wants to silence his critics, making a controversial statement against them. 

There have been some major controversial figures in tennis but the man who has been surrounded by controversy right now is Nick Kyrgios. The 29-year-old Australian has been out of the game for almost an entire year and there are still some people waiting for his return on the court.

However, right now the Aussie is facing a lot of backlash on social media for his controversial statements especially against Jannik Sinner during the doping scandal. It is safe to say that he is among the most notoriously recognized players right now.

Kyrgios makes a controversial statement against critics

Though there are some people who believe that Nick's career has ended, he has recently announced that he will be returning to the World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi this season. The former World number 13 also had some big words to say about his critics. "I think the one thing that is now on my target is a Grand Slam. I think that will be the only thing that will shut people up at the end of the day. That'll be my deep motivation," he said. 

There is no problem with Nick wanting to keep a Grand Slam title as his motivation but this statement still had a bit of negativity in it and it still looks like he still wants to answer back at the critics. The career of Nick Kyrgios did have a lot of promise in the start but controversial statements like this have not made him a popular figure among the fans at all and this statement can still cause a lot of damage on his return.
