If we win, Gregor gets naked’ - Alexander Zverev reveals plans if Team Europe wins Laver Cup

The Laver Cup is underway as Team Europe and Team World will be grinding hard to win the cup. Team Europe key player and World no 2 Alexander Zverev has revealed a bizarre plan if their team succeeds this time. He said if Team Europe wins the Laver Cup this year, his Bulgarian Teamate Grigor Dimitrov will get naked to celebrate their victory. Dimitrov was not part of Team Europes Squad. But at the last minute, Rafael Nadal withdrew from the event and Dimitrov came as a replacement. 

'Dimitrov will get naked'- Zverev

Dimitrov played an exhibition match against Serbia’s Novak Djokovic. He beat the tennis legend 6-4, 2-6, 10-6. Team Europe is now looking to win the Laver Cup for the fifth time. Alexander Zverev in a recent interview has said his teammate Grigor Dmitrov will get naked just for the female fans and for Bjorn. He said “If we win, Grigor gets naked, just for the female fans and for Bjorn. Without the jersey, its good.” 

Dimitrov will play his opening match against Chilean Alejandro Tabilo. Before this match, they met at the Miami Open and Dmitrov won the match to enter round 32. Alexander Zverev has played the most matches for Team Europe against Team World in the Laver Cup. But he doesn't see himself as the leader of the team. He says “I don't see myself as a leader at all in this team because I don't think this team needs anything like a leader. We have only champions on this team. We all know what it takes to win the tournament. We all know what it takes to win big matches. I feel like we have all done it.” 

Zverev recently reached world no 2 after reaching the US Open quarter finals. But he has yet to win a grand slam. He reached the 2020 US Open Final and 2024 French Open Final but lost both finals. He will now play alongside World No 3 Carlos Alcaraz for Team europe.
