‘I think we're still going strong’ - Novak Djokovic and Rohan Bopanna redefine age as just a number

Both World No.1s Rohan Bopanna 44 and Novak Djokovic 36 are proving that age is just a number. At this age, both the players hold the No.1 position in ATP Singles and Doubles. On Sunday Novak Djokovic broke the record of becoming the oldest World No.1 record in PIF ATP Rankings. While Rohan Bopanna still holds the No.1 position in ATP Doubles Ranking.

On Monday ATP Tour shared a video on their social media account along with the caption “Old is Gold” as both the players were talking about how it feels to be World No.1 in old age. "It's not balanced. It's not 50-50. He brings more years to the 80s. But I think we're still going strong," according to Hindustan Times, Novak Djokovic stated in the video which was shared by ATP Tour on X.

 Both Novak Djokovic and Rohan Bopanna talked about the importance of dedication and experience towards the sport and the key lesson that tennis gives.While Novak Djokovic lauded Rohan Bopanna’s efforts towards his training and has a desire to have a future collaboration in India.

Novak Djokovic wants to play in India

According to the Times of India, Novak Djokovic stated, “It’s great for Serbian tennis and Indian tennis and hopefully we can do something in India soon, we can play there. I look forward to it. It’s amazing. We are old, but gold!”

Novak Djokovic is taking part in the Monte-Carlo Masters as he aims to bounce back from the exits at Indian Wells and Australian Open. He is set to go into the quarter-final in the ATP Masters 1000 and is eager to win the first title of the season. Novak Djokovic won the last Monte Carlo title in 2015 since then in the last seven appearances he has not got through the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna along with Matthew Eden is still dominating and aims to win their third title of the season as they have won the Miami Open and the Australian Open.
